My wife and I had a high tea, which was absolutely fantastic, the gentleman who served us could not do enough, we could not finish this so he put it into a box so we could take it home, we highly recommend this place, the food was great

Serene environment and classic design within the glasshouse. Staff were friendly, professional, and helpful. They ensured we were comfortable, checking in frequently to see if we needed anything. Family-friendly environment, my wee one enjoyed taking loads of pictures there. Perfect Scottish breakfast as expected 👌. I would definitely visit again

Wonderful afternoon tea at the Glasshouse today. We had a dancing lady’s 70th birthday to celebrate and we have always loved this place. The staff are always efficient and welcoming. Today it was Aidan and Austin who were the servers - both very pleasant young men. Our food was delicious and plentiful - the sausage rolls were amazing!! I highly recommend the Glasshouse.

Took 14 people for afternoon tea and was delighted with the care and attention given especially since one couple had not warned in advance of special dietary needs. Everyone was complimentary.

Comida buena y abundante, servicio poco atento. Tardaron en atendernos aun siendo los únicos clientes por atender. Pedimos 3 hamburguesas y 1 era sin queso. Sirvieron las 3 hamburguesas con queso y 1 sin patatas! No atendieron a nuestra petición!

First time visiting The Glasshouse, we won't be returning. The place is very tired and needing a revamp. Carpets are not the cleanest considering this is a restaurant, the curtains had marks on the bottom of them and the cushions on the settees at the reception part were grubby and could do with a wee straighten and puff up. Not busy(only 2 other diners) so plenty of staff available to do this. We had to move to another table as the top was loose and wobbly. Food was fine and the girl who served us was very pleasant. Such a let down as I had expected it to be to the standard of the surrounding area.

I was really disappointed with our visit this afternoon for the prosecco afternoon tea. I have been to the glasshouse before and enjoyed their meals but the afternoon tea really is not great value for what's included. You get a smaller than average amount of food and I was shocked to find out that a cup of tea or coffee was not included despite upgrading to the prosecco option. When one of our group ordered an additional cup of tea, the pot wasn't even hot. We had to ask where our ordered drinks were halfway through eating as we made do with water until they arrived. Some of the sandwiches barely had filling in them and the scones were really small and dry. Some of the glassware used for the desserts had cracks in them and we found it almost comical that one of the desserts, in a taller glass, couldn't fit a spoon so we had to resort to using our knives to eat them! This was bought as a gift so I had really hoped for a much better experience than what we received. I definitely wouldn't return again or recommend this afternoon tea.

Finally managed to visit my new golf clubs restaurant, decided to take my mum and dad for a sunday dinner, I got arancini balls to start and they were light and crispy with a tasty tomato sauce. My partner and I got the Sunday roast and it was cooked to perfection, vegetables and the cauliflower cheese was great. My mum got the Morrocan spiced cauliflower steak which she enjoyed and my dad had the Troon harbour fish and chips which he loved, for sweet I got the Panna cotta, my partner got the brownie

My daughter booked 20 afternoon teas, for around 25 guests foe a babyshower, including 2 gluten free ones, we were not disappointed. We had all of main large room and staff agreed we could set up early with a balloon arch/easel. The service was very good and attentive without being intrusive. The afternoon teas were delicious and more than ample for all the guests, many went home with boxes of leftover cakes. Many guests commented that it was the best afternoon tea they had had. We would highly recommend the afternoon teas.

We came for afternoon tea for my Nana's birthday and the food was delicious with warm quiche, yummy sandwiches and a tasty selection of cakes and scones. The best thing of all though was the service. Top tier, super friendly and helpful staff that truly made my Nana's birthday wonderful. My mum is disabled in a wheelchair and we parked the car directly outside the restaurant and everything was on the flat and they were super helpful working our where best to place mum for comfort and ease of the delicious cakes. A fantastic time and thank you to all the staff for making my Nana's birthday amazing.

Glasshouse Restaurant in Rowallan Castle While we were eagerly anticipating a delightful birthday celebration at the Glasshouse Restaurant, our experience sadly fell short of expectations. Despite the enchanting ambiance and the commendable service from the polite and accommodating staff, the afternoon tea experience left much to be desired. Although the venue itself exuded charm, especially in comparison to other fine dining options in Glasgow. However, the quick and attentive service, coupled with their efforts to accommodate dietary preferences such as ensuring halal options, was appreciated. As for the afternoon tea menu, while it boasted a variety of selections, including finger sandwiches, scones, and desserts, we found the portions to be disappointingly small. Some of the items, like the Cheese & Red Onion Quiche and the Vanilla Cream Cheese & Gingerbread Sponge, didn’t quite meet our taste expectations. Despite expressing our concerns to the host, the offered solutions, such as a 10% discount after payment or a return visit for a similar experience, didn’t quite convince us of a worthwhile return. Overall, while the Glasshouse Restaurant may have potential, our experience left us longing for more in terms of portion sizes and flavor profiles. Perhaps with some adjustments, it could truly shine as a top-tier dining destination. Halal حلال can be provided upon request ✔️ Value for money ❌ Ambience 10/10 Service 10/10 Taste 4.5/10

Popped in for first time for lunch a few weeks ago and the staff were lovely. Couldn't have been more helpful. Prices were very good but the food left us a bit disappointed. Ordered the terrine and I think it was haddock to start, followed by chicken and duck for mains. It was edible but nothing special. Will definitely go back and try again After all we all have off days.

While I generally try to be constructive in my feedback, I'm afraid I have to say that my Sunday lunch at Rowallan Castle was a bit of a letdown. The food was, relatively speaking, uninspiring. For an item such as a Sunday Roast dinner to be highlighted on the menu in such a way and then be a bit of a let down was disappointing. Our recent disappointment regarding our experience at The Glasshouse Restaurant at Rowallan Castle. It's disheartening to find out that a place with such a promising reputation failed to meet our expectations. A Sunday Roast Beef dinner should have been a delightful and memorable occasion, but it seems that Rowallan Castle fell short in several crucial aspects. We have given two stars on this particular occasion in respect of the failings encountered. The actual roast beef lunch : Although the vegetables were quite tasty, portion size in the meat area were not impressive. We have visited various restaurants in and around the area over time and there have been highs and lows where a Sunday Roast is concerned. There are many places that offer a ‘great plate’ where others have not. The Glass House falls into the later. Lackadaisical, lacklustre service is another significant issue that can significantly dampen a dining experience. Slow and inattentive waitstaff can make guests feel neglected and unvalued, contributing to an overall sense of dissatisfaction. However the young waitress that served us on the day outshone the other male members of staff with her attentiveness, and friendly manner. As for the atmosphere: unfortunately we cannot comment on this, as there wasn’t any. The absence of atmosphere is equally detrimental to the dining experience. A warm and inviting ambiance is essential for creating a pleasant and memorable dining. Our other concern was with the cold draft that was felt during lunch. In spring / summer the Glasshouse is a nice place to enjoy, not so however once the weather has changed We actually found ourselves eating at a pace so as to leave and make our way to somewhere warmer. My feet and lower legs were particularly cold towards the end of our meal. The overall impression of a cold venue further reinforces the sense of detachment and lack of warmth. A restaurant should be a place where guests feel cozy and comfortable, not chilly and uninviting. This is a constructive criticism of the restaurant. I have read a lot of 5 star reviews about the restaurant and can I say this was not our first visit, ( nor will it be the last ) we have taken friends and family to the Glasshouse over the years and barring a few hiccups it was generally a pleasant experience. I can only assume that this was an “off day” and our visit on that particular date was unfortunate. With a few additions and a little updating the Glasshouse could be a great place for guests for years to come, however, as it stands we won’t be returning in the near future. Cold, uninspired, uninviting, overpriced, lacking, …. I could go on …. in fact I already have !!!

Had a lovely meal from the seasonal menu. The quality of food was excellent, made with great Scottish produce. The service was also excellent. The Glasshouse is definitely on our shortlist of great Ayrshire restaurants.

Only been for a couple of times so far for breakfast rolls. But both times have been really nice and having tried the haggis and black pudding you can tell it's better than the usual quality stuff. Looking forward to trying a dinner. Very nice setting as well with it being right in the country and fair prices as well.
